Movies at the Museum All Summer
I have to confess that I tend to forget just how many cool events are made available to us courtesy of the Imperial Calcasieu Museum. Not only can you see some great art by local artists, but there are plenty of historical artifacts and exhibits to please anyone who wants to know more about this area.
So many people complain about this area saying that there are just not enough cultural events, but if you check their usual itinerary, you'll find that there are great events going on at the museum all the time. Your best bet for keeping up is to become a member of the Museum.
With that thought in mind, the Imperial Calcasieu has announced its summer film series. This year they are offering an excellent selection of films, but seeing movies at the museum is much more than just sitting down and watching a movie. Each movie will also feature a lecture and discussion as well as Q&A about the movies.
Admission for museum members is free, but the cost is only $5 of you're not a member. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m. Here's one of the best parts; popcorn and refreshments are free.
