More Juice: Cleaner Welsh

The City of Welsh has awarded a $200,000 contract to Breaux Electrical to extend the city's three-phase service to north of Joseph Street and crossing under I-10.  It was the lowest bid for the work which is necessary to facilitate the final phases of a hazmat cleanup involving a truck that crashed along that stretch carrying Trichloroetheylene.

As well as helping with the cleanup, the new power infrastructure may also pave the way for future economic development along that stretch of interstate, which is now all farmland.
