Merry Christmas From Dave Morgan
Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are all behind us now. Seems rather anti-climactic since Christmas stuff has been in stores since before Halloween.
We had a quiet, restful four day weekend and did the usual chores. Was surprised to see the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was rated PG. The internet was abuzz with the fact that Diana Ross may have lip-synched her song. I thought everybody lip-synched their songs. Given the fact that Ms. Ross was the only performer to not have a handheld microphone, I pretty much assumed she lip-synched. Big deal, huh?
The Lions lost their football game, Michigan lost its game and Black Friday was kind of a bust, too. The only place we go for savings is, are you ready? Petsmart! Usually, cat litter is half price. Not this year. Five bucks off the usual price. We also did our grocery shopping. It was nice because it wasn’t terribly crowded. I mean, who wants to grocery shop on Black Friday!?
Cyber Monday turned out ok. Had to report for jury duty at 8 that morning, was sent home at noon, and did my Christmas shopping online in about 15 minutes! The only disappointment was the fact that Raising Cane’s, who usually offers buy one get one box meals, didn’t this year. Had to cook!
Now we just need to finish the “dreaded Christmas letter” to send out with our cards, and put up the tree. We’re thinking about putting lights on it this year, for the first time in about 6 years. The cats pretty much leave it alone these days, since they’re getting older, but we’ll see what happens. We’ll also dust off the Christmas movies. Watched Miracle on 34th Street Thanksgiving night.
Enjoy the season!
