In an effort to make McNeese home games a bit more friendly to family attendance, McNeese Athletic Director, Bruce Hemphill has announced that home games will no longer start at 7 p.m.

Starting Saturday September 13 the first McNeese home game for 2014 will begin at 6:00 p.m.. According to McNeese the new time will be more family friendly. Here’s a statement from Athletic Director Bruce Hemphill:

“This is a conscious effort to expand our fanbase,We’re still sticking to the McNeese tradition of playing evening games, just making a slight adjustment.  Fans will still get a full day’s worth of tailgating and game day activities.”

“By moving the time up a hour, we feel this will be more of an opportunity for families with children as well as our students to attend games.  This will also provide a more reasonable hour for both our in-town and out-of-town fans to return home following the game.”
