McNeese Football Returns To 92.9 The Lake This Spring
92.9 The Lake is the official radio partner for McNeese Cowboy football, and the Pokes return to action in The Hole this spring.
A buzz is about the McNeese Cowboys football team this season. New head coach Frank Wilson joins the team for his first season. Wilson is a former LSU Tiger position coach who won several SEC and national awards during his tenure there. He brings a recruiting pedigree that can't be rivaled. Wilson grew up in New Orleans and played football at Nicholls State from 1994-1996.
The Cowboys decided to not play the fall football season, as the Southland Conference suspended play because of the pandemic. They now join several other football conferences across the nation that opted to play in the spring instead.
Home games at The Hole will look very different this season because of the Phase Two COVID-19 protocols our state is currently operating in. Football games will be played at 25 percent capacity or around 3,100 fans will be allowed to attend the games.
The season begins Saturday, February 13 at 6:00pm on the road at Tarleton State, and the first home game is Saturday, February 27 versus Incarnate Word with a 6:00pm kick-off.
All the hard-hitting action can be heard this season on your radio dial at 92.9 FM and on our free mobile app.
