LSU Tiger Star Malik Nabers Talks About His Impoverished Beginnings On New Podcast
BATON ROUGE, LA: In the most recent installment of Gordon McKernan's "Grubbin' with G" podcast series, LSU Tigers wide receiver, Malik Nabers, was interviewed by Gordon.
The program gives viewers an insider's perspective on Nabers' path from impoverished beginnings to rising stardom in collegiate football.
Nabers, who is from Lafayette, Louisiana, revealed that his pathway to college football wasn't the conventional one because he couldn't play the game in his early years due to financial restrictions.
Nabers' high school football career began as a freshman when he joined the Ovey Comeaux High School team. Nabers received offers from 17 institutions as a result of his outstanding performance in seven-on-seven games and outstanding sophomore and junior seasons. Nabers was judged ineligible to play his senior year, but his perseverance and talent allowed him to earn a position on the LSU Football squad.
The episode also includes amusing banter and glimpses into Nabers' personal tastes, such as his fondness of shrimp fettuccine and preferred movies. The inspirational tale of Nabers might serve as motivation for young athletes and Tigers fans.
