The Louisiana Office of State Parks is currently adjusting pool schedules for the end of summer 'to ensure that certified lifeguards are present during pool operating hours.' All pools will close on Labor Day, 2019.

According to an official press release, Bayou Segnette State Park’s wave pool in Westwego will be open only on the weekends and Labor Day from 10:00 am - 5:30 pm beginning on Monday, August 5th. Pools at Chemin-A-Haut State Park in Bastrop, Lake D’Arbonne State Park in Farmerville, and North Toledo Bend State Park in Zwolle will be open only on the weekends and Labor Day from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning Monday, August 12.

State Parks with water playgrounds will be open Tuesdays through Sundays from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm until October 31st. Those include Bogue Chitto in Franklinton, Chicot in Ville Platte, Fontainebleau in Mandeville, Jimmie Davis in Chatham, Lake Bruin in St. Joseph, Lake Fausse Pointe near St. Martinville, Palmetto Island near Abbeville, St. Bernard in Braithwaite, and Tickfaw in Springfield.

State Parks with designated beach swimming areas will be open from 7:00 am - 9:00 pm daily, but do not include any kind of lifeguard supervision. Those parks include Bogue Chitto, Cypremort Point southwest of Franklin, Jimmie Davis, Fontainebleau, Lake Bruin, Lake Claiborne in Homer, Poverty Point Reservoir in Delhi, and South Toledo Bend near Anacoco.
