
New Louisiana Jobs Program Aims To Boost High-Paying Careers
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - This month saw the official beginning of a new state initiative that will provide grants to businesses operating in industries considered vital to the Louisiana economy in an effort to increase high-paying jobs in the state.
Certain business sectors, such as energy and advanced manufacturing, are the focus of the initiative; gaming, retail, solar farms, and more are excluded from the program.

The Louisiana Economic Development (LED) oversees the High Impact Jobs Program, which was established to offer performance-based subsidies to companies in the Bayou State that establish full-time, benefits-eligible positions with above average earnings. Companies must operate in eligible industries and meet pay standards based on parish or regional averages in order to be eligible.
Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Susan Bourgeois says that the program has received four applications to date.

Businesses must be based in Louisiana and have the LED secretary's approval to take part in the new program.
