Louisiana Gator Tries To Shop At Dollar General After Hours

What's one thing in Louisiana that we have more of than alligators?  It's got to be Dollar General stores.

What do alligators shop for at the Dollar General?  It sounds like a really bad dad joke, but for a Dollar General store in Plaquemines Parish it was a reality.

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's office posted a picture on their Facebook page of a huge gator waiting by the doors of a Dollar General.

In my many jobs before working in radio I was a stocker at one of the Dollar General stores in Westlake.  One night when I was going out to throw away some trash at closing time, I walked up on a possum in the dark and almost had a heart attack. I can't imagine walking out and being face-to-face with a huge gator.

There's no word on if the gator was relocated or they just waited for him to go on about his business elsewhere.
