Local Florist Adopts Senior Citizens To Give Arrangements To
George's House of Flowers had ordered a new stock of spring flowers for the upcoming Easter season. Shortly after the order, the quarantines began to pop up. This put a bind on being able to sell the flowers.
Rather than let them go to waste, George set out to help brighten the days of local senior citizens. He put out word on his Facebook page, asking if anyone wanted to adopt an arrangement to then be donated to a senior citizen. After asking, he set out asking for a list of local senior citizens in the area to bring the arrangements to.
He painstakingly sanitizes the vases the flowers go in, builds the arrangements in gloves and a face shield, then wipes it all down again after finishing. Once the arrangement is complete, George goes down the list of local seniors and delivers the flowers to the doorstep of the home. The deliverer never makes actual contact with the receiver of the flowers.
If you would like to donate or sponsor an arrangement, you can contact George's House of Flowers through Facebook or by calling him directly at the shop. Arrangements are $30.00, which simply covers the cost of the flowers being used. He is still open for arrangement needs, including funerals, but is limiting the amount of contact and people in the shop.
