In the early morning hours this past Sunday, Lake Charles Police Department responded to a 911 call in reference to a shooting at the Twelve Palms RV Park on Broad Street. Upon arriving at the scene, LCPD found the victim in the case, Joshua Touchet, 24 of lake Charles, suffering from a gunshot wound. Touchet was immediately transferred to memorial hospital for treatment, but died of his wounds later in the day.

Police began their investigation and, in the course of that investigation, they questioned and subsequently arrested Desmond Kemon Orphey, 20 years old, from Lake Charles, and a 14-year-old male subject,The two adults, Desmond Kemon Orphey and Johnnie Paul Hardman Jr., have been booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. The 14-year-old male has been booked into the Calcasieu Parish Juvenile Detention Center.

Upon further investigation, authorities identified a third suspect in the case; Johnnie Paul Harman Jr., 28 of Lake Charles. After questioning Hardman, he too was place under arrest and booked.

While these three arrest have been made in the case, the investigation is still ongoing and authorities have asked that anyone who may know some details or have other evidence relating to the crime call Detective Larry Newingham or Sgt. Joe Savoie at 337-4311611. Judge Clayton Davis set Hardman and Orphey’s bond at $1.2 million each.
