Lake Charles To Host Meeting With Contractors For Housing Rehab

The City of Lake Charles Community Development Department is searching for construction crews to help rebuild the damaged infrastructure caused by Hurricanes Laura and Delta. The critical loss the city suffered during the storms was almost 70% of housing in regard to low-income, apartments, duplexes, and condos.

The city will host two meetings to explain the operations of the Housing Rehabilitation Recovery Program (HRRP.) Those contractors interested in participating are urged to attend one of two meetings to gain information on expectations and the requirements. Both meetings will take place at the City Council Chambers at 326 Pujo Street at 6 pm on the following days: Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, and Monday, Sept. 26.

According to reports, contractors will also have an opportunity during the informational to ask questions and discuss plans for the upcoming HRRP program. Contractors wishing to obtain more details about the program or meetings call the Community Development Department at (337) 491-1440.
