I have been in Lake Charles for over 20 years and I have always had my questions about how Lake Charles came to be. I am sure that is the consensus of many people whether you moved here for another place or maybe you were raised here and just never heard the full story. Well, kudos to Jimmy Partin who put together a great video and truly went into detail of telling the story that I think you may find quite interesting about the origin of Lake Charles.

Obviously, this is a beautiful place, but regardless of who I spoke with, there was always a different story of how Lake Charles came to be. One thing that is usually related in all of the stories is pirate Jean Lafitte. t's a very interesting story of a man named Charles Sallier and his wife Catherine and Jean Lafitte in a lover's triangle of sorts.

I could see a movie being made about this with Steven Speilberg or possibly a new director who focuses on the tumultuous relationship that has been described here. Yet these are things that I did not know and it has made me want to do even more research about Lake Charles.
