
Lake Charles, Louisiana Selected As Site Of New Federal LNG Research Center
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - The National Center of Excellence for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Safety will make its new home in Lake Charles on the campus of McNeese State University.
In addition to having its own LNG Center of Excellence, McNeese is the only undergraduate university in the nation to offer a certificate program in LNG business.

McNeese President Wade Rousse had this to say to the press:
The idea of having a LNG Safety Center and Center of Excellence that will truly bring collaboration between federal regulators, industry and academia is a blessing to our location,” Rousse said. “This is truly a generational change. I believe 20-30 years from now, the seeds we’re planting today will be bearing a lot of shade, if you will, for those who follow us.
Why The National Center of Excellence for Liquefied Natural Gas Safety Located In Lake Charles?
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said to the press:
The sheer volume of product supplied by the state of Louisiana is unparalleled and growing, and there is no better place to locate our Center of Excellence.

The mission of the new project is for the USA to separate itself from the rest of the world and become the global leader in LNG safety and innovation.
