A $4 million grant is coming to Louisiana to provide childhood immunizations.

U.S. Senator John Kennedy - a member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies - says only 70% of children in the state under three years of age received their recommended vaccinations last year. The percentage was even lower for children below the poverty level.

"Preventive measures like vaccinations help keep our kids healthy and our communities safe from harmful diseases," says Sen. Kennedy. "This grant will allow Louisiana to provide important immunizations."
