For the second time in a week, a corrections deputy has been arrested for bringing drugs and other banned items into the St. Landry Parish Jail.

According to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Narcotics Division, they have been working on an investigation into which they were seeking to find who might be responsible for bringing these items into the facility.

Sheriff Bobby Guidroz's office says they were made aware of a plan for someone to bring contraband into the jail. Narcotics officials were able to get a hold of a package coming into the jail that had illegal drugs in it. Guidroz says Timothy Lazare was involved in a conspiracy.

The people incarcerated said they used outside help and this deputy to get the drugs and other items into the jail. This case is still being investigated, and the inmates involved have not been named.

Now, the three inmates and couriers involved in this week's case are NOT the same four people arrested back in July on similar charges. At that time they arrested the following people according to St. Landry Parish Now:

41-year-old Pamela Arvie of Ville Platte

34-year-old Laudarren Jones of Carencro

39-year-old Kirby Levier of Opelousas
