Louisiana Man Arrested After Allegedly Attacking His Stepfather With a Machete
A Louisiana man was arrested after he was accused of wielding a machete and attacking his stepfather on Saturday, August 3.
Bernard Shantate Tesla Jr., 33, was booked into the East Feliciana Parish Prison on charges of second-degree murder. Deputies said he could face additional charges though.
East Feliciana Parish deputies responded to a call at a Payne Road trailer home in Ethel around 7:40 am on Saturday, August 3. Once they arrived, deputies said they found 57-year-old Craig Stewart with multiple lacerations all over his body from a machete.

Stewart identified the culprit as his stepson, deputies said. The pair reportedly had an argument which led to the attack.

Sadly, Stewart is in critical condition after sustaining life-threatening injuries, according to deputies.
“The victim was transported to Our Lady of the Lake by Air-Med and he is in serious but stable condition,” EFPSO said.
The mother of Tesla told Baton Rouge TV station WBRZ that she is asking for privacy and prayers during this difficult time.
Tesla remains in jail and no bond has been set for him yet.
