Officials with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office say a corrections deputy has been arrested for allegedly bringing contraband into the jail according to KLFY.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Major Mark Leblanc says the details being released at this time are very limited. What the Major has said is that this arrest is part of an ongoing investigation looking into different aspects of what is happening at the correctional facility.

The allegation is that a deputy, who officials have not named, is accused of taking some sort of contraband into the jail. What the contraband is has not been released by officials.

This is not the only time this year that arrests have been made for bringing contraband into the St. Landry Parish Correctional Center. In mid-July, officials with the sheriff's office reported four people were arrested in connection with bringing contraband into the jail. At that time the following people were arrested according to St. Landry Parish Now:

41-year-old Pamela Arvie of Ville Platte

34-year-old Laudarren Jones of Carencro

39-year-old Kirby Levier of Opelousas

38-year-old Kevin Lemons of Ville Platte
