A New Orleans Saints fan attending the final Saints training camp practice has become the latest viral sensation.

This year, due to ongoing construction at their usual practice facility on Airline Drive, the Saints held their entire training camp on the West Coast in California. However, on Friday, the team returned to the Big Easy, practicing in front of their hometown fans inside the Caesars Superdome.

As the practice concluded, fans eagerly gathered near the sidelines, hoping for autographs from their favorite players. Among the crowd was Gayle Benson, the beloved owner of the Saints and New Orleans Pelicans, who was also receiving autograph requests from adoring fans. But one fan, in particular, managed to steal the spotlight.

A passionate fan caught Mrs. Benson’s attention by dramatically ripping off her wig in pure New Orleans fashion. But she didn’t stop there—she then boldly asked Mrs. Benson to sign the wig! The unexpected request sent waves of laughter through the crowd.

“Excuse me, can I get the initial right here, boo?” the fan can be heard saying in the now-viral video. As Mrs. Benson graciously signed the wig, another fan humorously chimed in, “That is too much!” The laughter continued as the woman proudly declared, “They can’t do it like me" in her unmistakable NOLA accent.

With Mrs. Benson's autograph secured, the fan turned to the camera with a sassy grin and said, “Now watch me put it back on. " She then expertly placed the wig back on her head, sparking yet another round of laughter from the crowd.

The Saints quickly shared the unforgettable moment on their social media channels, captioning the post: “Mrs. Benson – would you please sign my wig?” The post was met with an outpouring of love and laughter from fans, with comments like, “Only in New Orleans,” and “Got to love my city,” celebrating the uniquely New Orleans moment.

As the Saints gear up for what promises to be an exciting season, fans are already setting the tone for fun and unpredictability. If this wig-signing incident is any indication, Saints games this year will be must-see TV—and who knows, maybe wigs will become the next game day trend!

After all, in New Orleans, it’s always better to wear a wig than a brown paper bag.
