Dog Treats Sold in Louisiana Recalled Over Salmonella Risk
Louisiana pet owners are warned to avoid purchasing and feeding a chicken-based dog treat to their pets after a potential Salmonella contamination.
The recall was initiated after routine quality control testing identified the issue. Contaminated products can cause severe illness in pets and may spread the bacteria to humans through direct contact with contaminated treats, pets, or even shared spaces and objects like bedding and toys.
Carolina Prime Pet, Inc. has recalled 16-ounce bags of "Hollywood Feed Carolina Made Chicken Chips" due to potential Salmonella contamination. These treats are sold in stores across Louisiana as well as 18 other states.
