A popular Acadiana seafood & specialty meats store is cleaning up after thieves allegedly used a stolen pickup truck to smash through the front of the business before stealing an ATM during the early morning hours on Saturday.

Mikey's Seafood & Specialty Meats announced on social media that its Crowley location on Oddfellows Road was broken into overnight, forcing the storefront to temporarily close while repairs were made.

Despite the damage, the restaurant said its drive-thru remained open and thanked customers for their patience and continued support while crews worked to secure the building.

"We truly appreciate everyone's patience, understanding, and continued support as we work through this unexpected situation," the restaurant wrote.

The business also said it hoped to reopen the storefront by lunchtime Saturday if repairs could be completed.

Surveillance video shows truck crash into the building

As word of the burglary spread across social media, multiple videos began circulating showing different angles of the crime.

One video shared by Crowley resident Kentry Adams includes audio and appears to capture four men using a pickup truck to ram through the front entrance of Mikey's Seafood before removing an ATM machine from inside the business.

According to Adams' post, the incident happened around 3:24 a.m. Saturday.

Additional footage shared by Kiisha Hanks, whose family owns the business, shows the extensive damage left behind after the truck crashed into the front of the restaurant.

The videos have quickly spread across Acadiana as community members share them in hopes someone recognizes the suspects or has information that could help investigators.

Truck reportedly stolen from Scott before the burglary

The pickup truck used during the burglary was not owned by the suspects.

According to Mikey's Seafood and separate posts from the truck owner's family, the dark gray and black Ford F-350 Harley-Davidson Edition crew cab had been stolen from a home in Scott earlier that same morning.

Derrick Maitre identified the truck as belonging to his son and asked the public to contact law enforcement if they spotted the vehicle.

He said the truck was stolen around 3 a.m. Saturday from Scott before being used during the Crowley burglary. At the time of his post, it had not yet been recovered.

Later Saturday, Callie Martel posted an update confirming the truck had been found around midday and thanked everyone who shared information online.

Police asking for information

Mikey's Seafood & Specialty Meats is asking anyone with information about the burglary or those responsible to contact the Crowley Police Department or the business directly.

The restaurant also reminded customers that while repairs continue, the drive-thru remains open for service.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not announced any arrests as of Saturday afternoon.

Anyone with information that could help identify those involved is encouraged to contact the Crowley Police Department.
