NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. (KMDL-FM) - A safe was recently discovered in Kisatchie Forest containing over a dozen pieces of jewelry. Louisiana authorities are asking the public's help figuring out where it could have come from and who the rightful owner is.

Safe Found In Kisatchie National Forrest

According to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, March 13, a couple riding bikes in Kisatchie Forest near Forest Service Road #375 found an abandoned safe in the woods.

Multiple pieces of jewelry were found inside of the abandoned safe.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detectives are attempting to identify the owner of an abandoned safe containing several jewelry items discovered in the Kisatchie National Forest, according to Sheriff Stuart Wright.
On Friday, March 13, 2026, at approximately 4:20 p.m., deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau were dispatched by the NATCOM 911 Center to a dead-end area off Forest Service Road #375 after a couple riding bicycles discovered an open safe containing jewelry items in the woods.

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office has yet to release an estimated value of the jewelry found in the abandoned safe, but they are asking the public's help to find the owner.
