Over the weekend a Louisiana State Trooper was placed on leave after being arrested and charged with DWI.
Louisiana State Trooper Arrested for DWI
In a press release from the Louisiana State Police, shortly after 3 am on Sunday, October 15, 2023, an off-duty State Trooper was arrested and charged with DWI in Monroe, Louisiana.
Madison Parish Sheriff deputies contacted Louisiana State Police Troop F after they arrived on the scene of a single vehicle crash in the Monroe, Louisiana area.
According to the press release, Troopers suspected that Hamm, who was off-duty at the time, was impaired when they got to the site of crash.
Hamm voluntarily submitted to a breath test and was found to be over the legal limit.
After failing the breath test, 33-year-old David Hamm of Rayville, Louisiana was placed under arrest and charged with DWI.
Hamm has been a Louisiana State Trooper since 2014 and is currently assigned to patrol Troop F in the Monroe area.

He has been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation."
