Louisiana Powerball Wins Confirmed – Jackpot Now $1.23 Billion
There was no jackpot winner in Wednesday's multi-state lottery game Powerball. But the Louisiana Lottery has confirmed that several tickets sold in Louisiana for the April 4th drawing will be returning much more than the two or three-dollar investment the ticket purchasers made.
Powerball has confirmed that there were nine new millionaires made as the result of Wednesday's drawing. The million-dollar winners all earned their prizes via Match 5. That's when a player's ticket matches all five of the white ball numbers but not the Powerball. Match 5 winners were confirmed in Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, South Carolina, and Washington. The state lotteries in California and Massachusetts confirmed that those states had two Match 5 winners each from Wednesday's game.
If you did not see the drawing for April 4, 2024, here's how it played out.
At the time of the drawing, the estimated jackpot amount was $1.131 billion. The winning numbers were:
11 38 41 62 65 Powerball 15 Power Play x3
You may verify those numbers at the Official Powerball Website or the Louisiana Lottery Website. If you purchased multiple tickets for Wednesday's drawing you can input those ticket numbers, several at a time actually, on the La Lottery site. It's the easy way to see if you've got a winner.
Louisiana Lottery Confirms Several Big Wins in Wednesday Powerball
However, there were no single ticket wins reported by the Louisiana Lottery that were more than $10,000. The Louisiana Lottery is confirming that 38 tickets sold for the Wednesday draw earned at least $100 and another 21 tickets sold in Louisiana opted in for the Power Play and are worth $300 this morning.
The Louisiana Lottery's other Wednesday draw games, Easy 5 and Lotto, did not produce jackpot winners so those games and their top prizes will continue to grow. The next drawing for Easy 5 and Lotto will come Saturday night right after the Powerball drawing at 10 p.m.
What is the Mega Millions Jackpot?
Mega Millions currently boasts an estimated top prize of $67 million. The drawing in that multi-state lottery game will come on Friday at 10 p.m. CDT. By rule ticket sales for Mega Millions and Powerball must cease at least one hour before the scheduled drawing, so if you plan on playing, make sure you get your ticket(s) in time.
