Legendary singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett certainly had his ties to Louisiana. There are more than a few songs in the Buffett catalog that chronicle life along Bourbon Street or in New Orleans, or in the swamps and marshes that mix with the waves of the Gulf of Mexico. It was this part of the world, its people, its traditions, and its food that inspired Buffett to create songs that spawned a lifestyle.

There aren't many singers or performers that can say they did that, spawned a lifestyle. Sure being a beach bum was a popular pipe dream for those in the '60s and late 70s but nobody explained to others how to live that lifestyle quite like Jimmy Buffett did through his music. Through Buffett and his tunes, we learned how to operate a blender, we learned how to appreciate the ocean, and we learned that poor choices often make the best stories.

Since Buffett's passing a few weeks ago we are learning more and more about his history and influence in the Gulf South and along the Gulf Coast. Mobile Alabama certainly played a part in Buffett's formative career as a musician. And now fans of the late singer can actually own property at the location where Buffett recorded some of his songs.

The White Spunner Realty Company is offering a two-story building for sale at 1916 Airport Boulevard in Mobile. That address was once the home of Product Sound Studio. Jimmy Buffett recorded two songs, Don't Bring Me Candy which you can hear below.

And Buffett also recorded another tune at the Airport Road studios. That song was called Abandoned on Tuesday. You can hear that one by clicking the YouTube link below.

Needless to say, 1970s Jimmy Buffett had a totally different vocal quality than the Buffett that we all grew to love since Margaritaville. But you can really start to hear the "Gulf Western Vibe" of Buffett's style starting to manifest, especially in the Abandoned on Tuesday cut.

The building that is being offered for sale is not the original building that housed the recording studio. That building transitioned into a photography studio after it was no longer being used for audio recording. The building itself was destroyed in 2012 when it was struck by a tornado on Christmas Day. Here's how it looks now.

Odd fact or strange coincidence, Jimmy Buffett was born on Christmas Day. We can't say that the two cosmic events were connected but with Jimmy, you never knew. Regardless, if you'd like to own a piece of a Parrothead history, the building can be yours for the low price of $650,000. At least that's the asking price. From what we understand the address is still very popular with Parrotheads as they make their pilgrimage across the Gulf Coast.
