Explosion Threat – Appliance Sold by Louisiana Target, Walmart Stores Recalled
(KMDL-FM) It seems as if every day there is some new advisory, watch, warning, or recall concerning a product that is sold to American consumers. These advisories are a necessary evil, but it certainly would make life a lot easier in these United States if manufacturing standards and quality control were highlighted a little more often over making a profit.
That seems to be the underlying issue in quite a few of these recall notices that we have reported to you. There is either an issue in the process or there is something inferior with the packaging that seems to cause the problem.

The most recent consumer safety message that is in the headlines from the Consumer Product Safety Commission is rather concerning because the product in question could be and is often used by kids, or at least younger adults.
What Product Is Being Recalled Because of an Explosion Risk?
The main concern, according to the notice from the Consumer Product Safety Commission, is the threat of an explosion. I know that at our house, we consider explosions to be something to be mindful of. However, the product that is being recalled is not the actual product but more accurately an accessory that goes with the product.

The product that the Consumer Product Safety Commission wants you to be mindful of is the one-liter carbonation bottles that are sold to be used in conjunction with the Drinkmate system.
Drinkmate offers consumers a chance to create their own carbonated or fizzy beverages at home. The system injects CO2 gas into the beverage to bring about the bubbles. The system offers consumers a chance to create their own homemade soft drinks and soda pops.
Where Were These Exploding Bottles Sold?
However, based on consumer safety reports, the bottles involved in this recall notice have exploded on eight different occasions. In four of those incidents, the individuals who were using them suffered injuries. The most common injuries were cuts and lacerations, but there were also reports of hearing damage.
The affected bottles were sold online at Walmart, Target, and Home Depot, and at the company's website, iDrinkproducts.com. The bottles are described as 1L Carbonation Bottles with a clear polyethylene terephthalate (PET) body and caps and bases in red, blue, white, and black plastic.
For refund and replacement product information, you can visit this website, it's the site for iDrinkProducts.com, and file your request. If you do have these particular bottles in your home or office, you are advised to stop using them immediately.
