Carnival Cancels 9 Gulf Coast Sailings Out of Galveston
(KMDL-FM) Fans of Carnival Cruise Line who have planned a vacation getaway from the Port of Galveston will need to check their emails and apps for important breaking news concerning their upcoming cruise. The news in a nutshell is this: your cruise ain't going anywhere; it's been cancelled.

Carnival has already begun the process of reaching out to guests with confirmed bookings to either cancel those bookings or make arrangements on another ship, perhaps from another port, and maybe at another time.
Which Carnival Cruise Ships Are Affected By Galveston Cancellations?
What we do know is that Carnival has pulled the Carnival Jubilee from its port in Galveston. The ship has been a mainstay on the Texas Gulf Coast since 2023. That's when the Excel-class ship was added to the "Texas" fleet.

If you have booked passage on the Carnival Jubilee for cruises that are scheduled to embark on August 15, 21, and 29, as well as September 12, 18, and 26, and November 7 and December 11 in 2027, you will need to rebook, reschedule, or request a full refund on your passage price.
If You Have Booked a Cruise on Carnival Jubilee in August, 2026 - Know This
Please note that those are cruises that are planned for 2027, not the current year. If you have passage booked on the Carnival Jubilee for August 1,8,15,22, and 29th of this year, then your cruise will embark as scheduled, assuming no outside or environmental issues. Yes, the Jubilee will still depart from the new and improved Port of Galveston.

The reason for the cancellations in the last half of the summer sailing season in 2027 is a change in itinerary. Exactly what those changes are going to be was not noted at this time. Carnival is currently offering to rebook passengers on other ships with similar trips.

Currently, Carnival operates the Carnival Breeze and the Carnival Dream out of its moorings in Galveston. I am sure that if passage is available on those ships, those bumped from the Jubilee would be given priority. Carnival's Horizon, Miracle, and Sunshine are also expected to home port in Galveston by 2028.

Of course, if Carnival's change in plans doesn't fit your plans, you may request and should receive a full refund with no questions asked. But it does appear as though you will have several travel options.
