Best Louisiana Scratch-Offs for Big Payouts in Time For Christmas
This year lottery scratch-offs in Louisiana have paid big money for players in Morgan City, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Shreveport, and many other towns large and small across the state. If you're like me, cheap and lazy, then you know scratch-off lottery tickets make for a great stocking stuffer that could make you look like the best gift giver ever, if you know what games still have the biggest prizes left.
I personally like giving scratch-off tickets as stocking stuffers. That way I can spend a few bucks and the recipient of my gift could win thousands. It's happened and when it does you go from being just an "old fat guy" to the "best dad ever". But you have to know which games still have the biggest bang for your budget.
The Louisiana Lottery tracks scratch-off games across the state much like they do the big drawing games such as Powerball and Mega Millions. By the way, Mega Millions has a top prize of $510 million dollars for the Friday, December 23rd drawing, and Powerball has a top prize of $186 million for the Christmas Eve drawing. By the way, those top prizes are estimated.
Saturday's other big drawing games, Lotto and Easy 5 also have pretty nice jackpots too. The Lotto jackpot will be an estimated $2.95 million and Easy 5 will have an estimated top prize of $140,000. Your odds of winning one of those games are a little better than playing Powerball or Mega Millions but, if we're being honest, you'd need a Christmas miracle to win big in any of those games.
As far as the Louisiana scratch-off games, the best one-dollar games, at least as far as having the biggest prizes remaining would be these. Mambo Mambo would be my first choice in the dollar games. That game has all seven of its $2,000 top-prize tickets still available to win. Loose Change Doubler still has nine of its twelve total top $1,000 prizes remaining. The other two dollar games we'd suggest would be Top Dollar and Ca$h In!. Those games have four of their nine top prizes of $6,000 still available.
In the two-dollar price range, your best bet, at least to give a top prize would be Masquerade Money, it's a brand new game for the Louisiana Lottery, and all four of the game's four jackpot tickets worth $12,000 are still out there. The game went live only three days ago, so strike while the iron is hot. Cheery and Bright and 333 would also be good choices for big wins for Christmas too. 333 has four of its $13,000 prizes available and Cheery and Bright has three of its four $12,000 prizes left.
The two-dollar scratcher is by far the Lottery's most popular ticket. So, there are a lot of games to choose from but many of those games have already produced big winners and only have a few "big money" prizes left. The newest $2 dollar scratch-offs, besides the aforementioned Mambo Mambo and Cheery and Bright, are Lotto Cash, Twist, and Gold. Those games have been active for several months but still have a few jackpots left between them.
The newest $3 ticket from the Louisiana Lottery is Crossword Gold, it dropped in October of this year and there are still three $30,000 jackpots still available. All The Marbles is the only other $3 ticket I would buy. All the other $3 games have only one or two jackpot tickets left to win. So, be mindful if you purchase tickets in that price range. You could still win some money but maybe not the "OMG" money you were hoping for.
In the $5 dollar spectrum, your choice should be Hot & Cold Numbers. That's a new game, just three days old as of this report and all of the top prizes of $100,000 are still available. All of the other five-dollar games have just one jackpot left, so I'd definitely suggest Hot & Cold Numbers over any other choice in the $5 price range.
In the $10 dollar price range, you have two good choices if you're looking to win or "give" big money for Christmas. Big Cash is brand new. It was introduced on December 19th and has all four of its $200,000 top prizes still available to win. 50x was introduced in October and it has four of its five top prizes of $200,000 available. Blazing Suits would be my third choice in the $10 category if you're looking for variety. The rest of the $10 games have just about run their course but there are still some pretty nice payouts available, but not as many as the games we mentioned earlier.
The Louisiana Lottery only offers one $20 scratch game, it's called 100x. The top prize is $500,000 and there are three of those big-money winners still available. The game has been out since October. Quite honestly if given a choice between getting a $20 lottery ticket or just $20 bucks in my stocking, I'll take the cash instead of the chance at more cash, but that's just me.
You can see all the remaining prizes for all of the Louisiana Lottery's scratch-off tickets here. As always, we encourage responsibility when playing or purchasing lottery tickets. While lottery games are fun to play the consequences of gambling addiction can be anything but fun. If you need help, it's available by calling 1-877-770 STOP (7867). Good luck and Merry Christmas and may your stockings be stuffed with the kind of blessings that even the best lottery games can't buy.
