BATON ROUGE, La. (KMDL-FM) - When the 2025 Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest takes place this July 4th, there will be one contestant that Louisiana folks will definitely be pulling for.
Baton Rouge's Adrian Morgan Headed to Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest
Baton Rouge native Adrian Morgan will be competing in the American holiday tradition held in Coney Island, a neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.

Local Eater Ranks 12th Nationally in Major League Eating
The 42-year-old Morgan is currently at No. 12 in Major League Eating (MLE) rankings ahead of this Friday's competition.
Morgan's Competitive Eating Journey Began in 2010
Morgan's competitive eating career goes back to 2010, when he entered his first contest in Biloxi, Mississippi. There he ate 18.5 peanut butter and banana sandwiches in 10 minutes.
Record Holder: 20 Hard-Boiled Eggs in Just 84 Seconds
According to his MLE bio, Morgan holds one record:

Can He Upset the Favorite in Coney Island?
There's no word on how many hot dogs he's ever scarfed down in a competition, but if he wants to take home the yellow belt, it would be a monumental upset.
Joey Chestnut Returns After Missing 2024 Contest
Returning this year to the contest is Joey "Jaws" Chestnut, who has won it a whopping 16 times and also holds the world hot dog-eating record with 76 hot dogs. He missed last year's contest after a sponsorship conflict caused him to bow out of the event.
Last year, Patrick Bertoletti was the winner after eating 58 hot dogs.
“The Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest stands as an enduring beacon of freedom for our nation and the world,” said Major League Eating Chair George Shea. “We look forward to watching the greatest eaters as they compete on a celebrated platform for international sports.”
Where and When to Watch the Competition on July 4
You can watch Morgan try to pull off the upset at 11:00 am July 4 on ESPN2. And if you miss the broadcast, it will be re-aired at 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
