Toys ‘R’ Us Announces Return for Holidays, Is Lafayette Getting Toy Store?
(Lafayette, Louisiana)- The holidays are rapidly approaching, and one of our favorite toy stores has announced that they are returning just in time for the holidays, and that's Toys "R" Us.
A report this week says the brand that faded away a few years back is bringing back 120 stores in America before the holidays, and excitement is already growing on social media.
Since the toy store scaled back years ago, nearly 40 standalone stores have reemerged in places like Macy's and some airports, but more are coming, and now we can only hope a Toys "R" Us shows up again in Acadiana.
According to a press release, "This is a major moment for Toys "R" Us as we significantly expand our presence across the United States," said Jamie Uitdenhowen, executive vice president of Toys "R" Us at WHP Global."
The new standalone stores will feature some of the hottest toys for the upcoming holiday season, and this could make shopping a bit easier for parents and guardians if you are lucky enough to have a store near you.
Now, according to the recent announcement, the new Toys "R" Us stores will have more than just popular toys; they will also include a dedicated area called Creator Studios. These are dedicated spaces where influencers, creators, and toy brands can create content, unveil new products, and host toy reveals, launches, and special events.
Plus, the stores will include candy shops and cafes for visitors and shoppers to enjoy. I mean, isn't this genius? A sugar rush while shopping can only lead to more purchases, right?

New Toys "R" Us Store Locations
Like you, I want to know where all 120 new stores will be located, but they haven't announced which markets they'll open in yet. However, if we hear of a new Toys "R" Us location showing up in Lafayette soon, we willl share here.
Personally, I can think of several places along Johnston St or Ambassador Caffery where a new Toys "R" Us could thrive.
Until then, let's keep our fingers crossed that we get a Toys "R" Us here; after all, how much fun was it to walk through those stores as a kid or as adult with your kids. #FingersCrossed
