LSU Football Could Add Sponsorship Patches to Iconic Jerseys
(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) - There's a buzz on social media surrounding the LSU football program, and it has nothing to do with their play, but rather their jerseys.
LSU has one of the most iconic football uniforms in the country, and now the university is reportedly seeking permission from the NCAA to make a change to it.
In 2025, ads and sponsorships will be ubiquitous, and that's not about to change. If you watch NASCAR, the NBA, or WWE, you'll see ads with logos on various items; soon, LSU football may also sell ad space on its jerseys.
Yes, you read that correctly: a report on social media states that LSU is seeking permission from the NCAA to sell ads in the form of a patch, which would be sewn onto the jersey.
If granted permission, LSU could sell sponsorship ads to businesses or corporations, and have their logo attached to the iconic jerseys the Tigers wear on Saturday afternoons and nights.
As you may expect, some fans on social media are not happy with the idea of ads being put on the Tigers' jerseys. However, you have to remember that everything is a business, including sports and entertainment.
If LSU is permitted to put ads on their jersey, this will bring millions into the university, and with the cost of everything going up, I am sure that this would help in expenditures. Adding NIL payments to the equation, it only makes sense that a university would look for additional ways to "make money."
So, we ask, how would you feel if LSU, the team you cheer for on Saturdays, adds corporate logos to its uniform? You can let us know your opinion in the comment section on the page that linked you to this story.
