Louisiana Domestic Violence Incident Leads to Accusations of Dog Killings

The Monroe Police Department says that a woman and man were both arrested for a domestic violence call, but the woman, after bonding out, says she was threatened with accusations the man had killed two of her dogs according to KTVE/KARD.

The Monroe Police Department began investigating the allegations. The female victim told police she had received this text from Andrew L. Zamora,

I just killed your cat. You want proof, pull up b****

The woman was able to look at the surveillance video, and she says that two of her pets were not seen on video after 6:30 the night of Tuesday, March 26. But what she says she did see was Zamora allegedly taking a dog into the kitchen and the bathroom.

She then says you can hear a dog yelping.

Later Monroe investigators went to the home. Zamora was not there, but they did search the home at the point where the dog was last seen. There was no dog, but a powerful cleaning odor.

KTVE/KARD reports in their story,

According to court documents, authorities observed spots of blood on the carpet, drawers, countertops, toilet, and the tile that surrounds the bathtub. Authorities tested the blood and determined that the blood did not belong to a human.

Other court documents alleged that Zamora removed the dogs from the home via a trash bag and bucket and then buried them.

On Tuesday Zamora was arrested on the following charges:

Two counts of Animal Cruelty

Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Violation of a Protection Order
