It's not every day you are going to see a large office building get destroyed, but that is just the plan for the Capitol One building in Lake Charles on Saturday.

The building has been an eyesore since 2020 when Hurricane Laura paid a destructive visit to the city.

This office building used to be home to Capitol One bank along with other companies who rented spaces. The tower was fifteen stories tall and boasted mirrored-window glass windows that would catch your attention while you were driving along in the city.

Since the hurricanes in 2020 and after, plus the changes that COVID-19 made to how and where we do business, the fate of the Capitol One building was up in the air. What should be done with the building?

In trying to answer the question, "What happens next for the area", the answer is not really known at this time except that the city did reveal it will be a "development-ready" site. It is owned by Hertz.
