(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) - The 2026-27 LSU Football season is about to kick off, and during a recent press conference, the media members in Baton Rouge gave new LSU Football Head Coach Lane Kiffin some holy water.

LSU has been the target of many jokes and scrutiny in recent days after Kiffin said he'd accept former NFL players onto the team if they don't make a team, so a little laughing probably didn't hurt here.

As much as you may want to say about Lane Kiffin, and there's plenty to say about his style of coaching or how he does things, you have to respect how accessible he's been to the media since arriving in Baton Rouge.

Some coaches despise being in front of the media, and others limit the media's access to their team or program, but Kiffin has never really restricted access.

So, during a recent press conference before the season starts on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Tiger Stadium, a member of the local press had a gift for the new Tigers coach, and he seemed to get a chuckle out of it.

As Kiffin stood at the podium before the press, someone handed him a bag containing two small bottles of holy water.

Nick Saban's Wife Sprinkles Holy Water

For those who don't know, Nick Saban recently told a story that his wife sprinkled holy water on the sidelines at LSU when he returned to Tiger Stadium for the first time to coach against the Tigers. Lane Kiffin was on the staff, and it apparently worked because Alabama defeated LSU that night in a very close game.

Knowing this, the media gifted Coach Kiffin with his own bottles of holy water for his first game as a head coach in Tiger Stadium, and for when he returns to Ole Miss in just a few short weeks.

Lane Kiffin Gifted Holy Water

Kiffin seemed to graciously accept the holy water, and it will be interesting to see whether he blesses the turf this week and again in week three, when he returns to Oxford, Mississippi.

Check out the moment Lane Kiffin opened a bag, while standing before the media, to find bottles of holy water inside. This is so good.
