Going to the grocery store these days can be painful.

Remember when you could walk into a grocery store and get what you need for under $100? Well, it appears those days are long gone.

Sadly, with inflation, the price of groceries has skyrocketed in recent years and now many families are looking to save just so they can put food on the table.

So, with that said, we are all looking for deals or low prices when it comes to getting groceries, and Lafayette, LA has one of the most affordable grocery stores in the country.

According to an article we stumbled upon via Delish, the company ran an analysis to find the least expensive grocers in the country.

This did not include local or regional brands/stores, but rather national brands, and Lafayette is lucky enough to have one brand in the city, in two separate locations.

According to their list, Aldi is one of the cheapest places in the nation to buy grocery items. With two locations in Lafayette (3210 Louisiana Ave and 4518 Ambassador Caffery) this may be music to the ears of those looking to save.

In the article on Delish it states, "Aldi is considered one of the most popular grocery stores in the country. Not only is the product quality top-tier, the German-based company's business model is designed to minimize the cost to the consumer."

So, if you are looking to save, this is always an option, while some other local or regional brands may also be an option.

Let me note here that Trader Joe's also made the list of most affordable grocery stores and there are various locations in the region or South Louisiana.
