SHREVEPORT, LA – Fall is not typically a heavy wedding season, but lots of couples do tie the knot during the holidays. As we battle with inflation and higher prices, I did a little checking on wedding prices and was pretty shocked to see how much couples are spending on weddings these days.

What Drives Wedding Costs?

This price includes everything you might imagine for a great wedding. The prices for wedding reception venues have gone up dramatically. But that’s not the only increase. This survey says couples hire an average of 14 vendors to pull off the perfect day. Some of the other cost increases include food vendors, a live band or DJ, a photographer and a wedding planner. But you will also pay more for flowers, décor and other items. Another problem these days is the demand for professional planners. Since the pandemic, prices for these services are up by at least 30%.

These costs do not include the price of the ring or the honeymoon.
