14 more Texas boys and girls are not with their families in September. These young kids should be in school with their friends, not currently missing.

The number of missing children that are added to the list every month has gone down now that school has started. There are 7 fewer missing children in September compared to August.

Hopefully that is a trend that continues. Although this is heartening news that fewer children are missing, there is still a large group of girls and boys who need our help getting back to their families.

What To Do If Your Child Goes Missing In Texas

I would pray that your family never finds itself in this situation. If you do, it's always good to know the steps to getting your child found safe.

Time is not on your side, and you should immediately call local law enforcement.

Once you have alerted the authorities, take great liberty with any property left behind in your child's areas. Go through all of their closets, piles of laundry, pockets, and in and under the bed.

You never know when you might find a clue that could help bring your child home.  Then you should call the National Center For Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST.
