See The World’s Most Expensive Grilled Cheese Sandwich [VIDEO]

In Honor of National Grilled Cheese Day, we found the world's most expensive grilled cheese sandwich. First, I had no idea the sandwich had its own holiday. Did you? For the record, I'm totally down with it because I love a good ol' grilled cheese sandwich!

That said, I'll join the celebration and cook up some melted goodness tonight! According to a recent YouGov Sandwich Survey, 1,223 people were asked what their favorite to least favorite American sandwich was. Lo and behold, the grilled cheese came out on top!

The survey found that 79% of Americans said the cheesy sandwich was their favorite, and the French dipped sandwich was the least favorite at 46%. Here's another useless fact, only 4% of Americans DON'T like it. So, National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day was a good idea after all!

We all can agree that this is not only a delicious sandwich but also easy and relatively cheap to make. Right? Most of us stick to a simple recipe of bread, cheese, and butter, but a restaurant in New York has found a way to make this simple snack a pricey work of art.
