Louisiana Boudin: Who Has The Best? We Did A Poll, Here’s The Top 5 Locations!

Boudin is a Louisiana delicacy and the #1 comfort food sold in the Bayou State. So, it is sold at nearly all the Southern Cooking restaurants and most convenience stores/gas stations across the State. Let's not forget about the thousands of family-owned and operated Meat Markets in Louisiana. Every last one of them is special in their way. We tip our hats to them for keeping the tradition and culture of Boudin alive for more than two centuries.

Boudin is such an important delicacy in Louisiana and so many locations sell it, we wanted to know who has the best. So, we conducted a 4-week poll, listing more than 100 locations known for selling the delicious Pelican State food. There was really good participation, averaging well over 900 votes each week.

We began our quest to find out who makes the BEST Boudin in April. Since folks cook differently depending on the parish, we made sure the poll included a well-rounded list of 100+ Boudin vendors and meat markets. It was important to include a business that represented the many diverse cultures across the state.

We began the poll in the middle of the week so, week 1 was more like 10 days. That worked out because it was a huge list of vendors and businesses to go through. By week 2 the poll gained a lot of traction and the process of elimination went quickly according to the voting.

The poll extended past Memorial Day weekend as we continued our search for the best Boudin locations in Louisiana. The poll spanned over four weeks and Juneau's Meat Market emerged as the front-runner. By week 3 the top contenders started to become more apparent and by the end of the voting process, only 5 locations were left with votes. It is with great pleasure that we name, Juneau's Cajun Meats in Marksville, La. the official winners of the Townsquare Media Lake Charles "Favorite Place To Buy Boudin In Louisiana" poll! Congratulations. It is well deserved.

In the final round, no one even came close as Juneau's who took in 749 votes to clinch the #1 spot! Juneau's was named the 2023 Best Boudin Meat Market in Louisiana! They earned bragging rights for one year, but they are going to have to fight to hold their spot.
