The 2023 Hurricane Season is from June 1 through November 30. Now is the time to think about and put together a game plan. There is nothing we can do about the weather forecast in Southwest Louisiana. Still, there are many things we can do to prepare for emergencies and ensure our families are safe.

This is why Louisiana Healthcare Connections is hosting the Emergency Preparedness Expo at the Martin Luther King Center (2009 N. Simmons St.) in Lake Charles this Saturday. Join us for this free community event on June 3, from 10 am to 2 pm.  This event will be informational and educational and a lot of fun for the entire family!

See live safety demonstrations on things like how to escape a fire, get valuable info like phone numbers and websites to obtain local emergency services, enjoy entertainment, music, kids' activities, and free food, and register to win a family getaway for four at Moody Gardens Resort in Galveston, Texas!

The expo's purpose is to provide families in the community with the resources necessary to prepare for dangerous weather conditions or emergencies in SWLA. We hope to see you there!
