Craving Heat? McDonald’s Brings Back A Spicy Louisiana Favorite
It's been a rough month and a half for the international food giant McDonald's. The famous chain made headline news for all the wrong reasons in October when an ecoli outbreak was connected to the onions on their iconic Quarter Patty. Roughly 90 people fell ill, and one person tragically died. The onions were found at a few McDonald's locations in several states. Since then, McDonald's has tracked the tainted onions back to their supplier, Taylor Farms in California.
In a brilliant effort to put the onion incident behind them, the famous food chain announced it's bringing back a spicy Louisiana fan-favorite.
Linda VanGosen, vice president of menu innovation, "This is the first time we’ve introduced a new flavor of our classic Chicken McNuggets in the U.S. since they came to menus in 1983,” VanGosen, continued. "As our customers have been asking for Spicy McNuggets for some time now, we couldn’t think of a better time to bring them to our menus. We can’t wait for McNuggets fans to get a taste of these new spicy options.”
The Spicy McNugget fans on Instagram are making it clear that they want their favorite menu item to be permanent. I doubt that McDonald's will do that because as the Entrepreneur pointed out, the fast food chain uses "limited Edition" food items to generate more business. You can't blame them for that.
