The 10 Toughest Jobs During a Brutal Louisiana Heat Wave
Yesterday's Extreme Heat Warning for most of Northwest Louisiana was pretty sobering for anyone who makes a living working outdoors in conditions like this.

While some of us are only slightly inconvenienced by a hot car seat or a stifling walk to the parking lot, it wasn't terribly long ago that a heat wave just like this claimed the life of a Shreveport worker.
Any time we find ourselves in the grip of a dangerous heat wave, we should all take a second to remember those who make a living working in this incredibly hot weather.
Those same men and women who earn a living when the ground is frozen and wind chill factors dip down into single digits are the ones who the National Weather Service are talking about when they issue things like these Extreme Heat Warnings.
Even when heat indexes range from 105 to 110 and even hotter, there are those who's very livelihood depend on them being outside in this suffocating heat.
This is only an assumption on my part, but I'd be willing to bet that recruiting for one of these outdoor jobs is no more than a crap shoot this time of year. I just don't imagine lines are very long for any type of job opening.
Without hesitation, I tip my hat to these men and women who brave the elements to provide goods and services to the rest of us!
With that in mind, join me in showing your gratitude to The Ten Louisiana Workers Sweating The Most Right Now.
