YouTube TV Subscribers Could Lose KPLC in Lake Charles, Louisiana
Lake Charles, Louisiana (KNGT-FM) - Could there be trouble in paradise? If you're a YouTube TV subscriber, you might wake up on Wednesday morning without our local NBC affiliate, KPLC. Here's what's going on...
The current agreement between NBCUniversal and YouTube TV is set to expire on September 30, 2025. Reports indicate that the two sides are still far apart on reaching a new deal. According to NBC, the dispute centers around YouTube TV's request to include NBCUniversal's Peacock streaming service as part of its package.
If an agreement isn't reached by the deadline, September 30th, YouTube TV subscribers in Lake Charles and the Southwest Louisiana area could lose access to KPLC's programming, including news, weather updates, and NBC shows. This would also include Sunday Night Football coverage next week.
Good news for Southwest Louisiana residents is that you can access KPLC's telecasts in multiple ways. KPLC's newscasts and other programming are available through its streaming apps on Apple, Android, Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV.
For those who wish to express their concerns about the potential loss of KPLC on YouTube TV, a platform called getyourchannels.com is available to voice opinions and seek resolutions.
