You Can’t Bring These Items To Goodwill Stores In Texas

Have you ever been cleaning out your spare bedroom, kids' bedroom, garage, or another random room and just have things that you have no idea what to do with? Well, that is where Goodwill comes into play. You can bring most items to Goodwill stores in Texas, but what items are prohibited?

You can get a very good deal if you shop at Goodwill. When you buy at Goodwill, you can always be sure to get a fantastic bargain. However, you can save money at the Goodwill Outlet store because you pay for products by the pound rather than separately. Purchasing in bulk will pay off financially when you get more superior products for a much lower price.

They must, however, refuse some products because they cannot be recycled or because they contain hazardous elements. In other cases, Goodwill has to turn down an item because the cost of shipping, fixing, or refurbishing if exceeds what it can fetch in our stores. The people who handle contributions at Goodwill are skilled in assisting donors in donating items that they are unable to accept and informing the donor of other options.

So what are some of the items you CAN donate at Texas Goodwill Stores?

• Area rugs
• Baskets, tins, Rubbermaid®, Tupperware®, and other storage containers
• Bed frames
• Bicycles
• Books (hardback and paperback books, including textbooks)
• DVDs and VHS movies
• Hand tools
• Hats, gloves, scarves, and ties
• Household furniture
• Jewelry
• Lawn furniture
• Office and school supplies
• Toys

There are other items you can have at Goodwill Stores. The real stuff we want to know is what items can you NOT donate to a Goodwill store in Texas.

So what are some of the items you CAN NOT donate at Texas Goodwill Stores?

• Ammunition or weapons (including BB guns, pellet guns, and arrows)
• Any item covered in animal hair and trash
• Anything of a pornographic nature
• Automobile mechanical parts
• Baby equipment that does not comply with Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC} safety standard
• Food

• Furniture that is covered in animal hair, heavily soiled, broken, worn, torn, stained, moldy, blood-stained, or missing parts. Bean bag chairs and sleeper sofas are not accepted.
• Large appliances (i.e., stoves, washing/drying machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, trash compactors, hot water heaters)
• Mattresses, box springs, waterbeds, pillows
• Pharmaceuticals

• Pianos and organs
  Televisions, CRT (tube-style TVs in any condition)
• Used bicycle helmets
• Wall-to-wall carpeting
