What’s Going To Be Built At Old Iberia Bank Location On McNeese Street In Lake Charles?
For a little bit now, the old Iberia Bank location on McNeese Street in the former Kroger shopping center has been sitting abandoned in Lake Charles. The bank has been sitting empty just like the old Krogers until a fitness center opened up inside the old Krogers.
Southwest Louisiana and Lake Charles residents have been wondering if the bank would just sit there empty forever or if something would be built at the location.
Well, now we know that there will be something coming to that location where the Iberia Bank and no it's not a bank. We have gotten confirmation that the old Iberia Bank will be torn down and make way for new construction and new business that has never been in Lake Charles before. What is it?
The new restaurant that is coming to Lake Charles is called Smalls Sliders and they will be building the new restaurant where the old Iberia Bank is located at 135 West McNeese Street in Lake Charles.
Smalls Sliders was started by Brandon Landry who founded Walk-on's in Louisiana. One of his partners in Walk-ons is also an owner of Smalls Sliders and is Louisiana football god, Drew Brees.
What do they serve? Well of course hamburger and cheeseburger sliders along with seasoned waffle fries and their signature delicious Smauce or queso. They also have double-meat hamburgers and cheeseburgers, shakes, and party packs.
According to Michael Boyer, the new Partner/Operations Manager of the new Smalls Sliders in Lake Charles,
I have a handshake promise that Brandon Landry will be at our Grand Opening and I bet Drew Bree’s $100 that our Lake Charles store will beat his store's first-week sales.
Looking at Mid-June for a hopeful opening date. Let’s Geaux!
We can't wait to see this new restaurant come to Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana and who knows, Drew Brees may come to celebrate the grand opening.
