Lake Charles, LA [KNGT-FM] - The 87th Southwest District Livestock Show and Rodeo is coming back to Lake Charles, and it gets started this Thursday, January 29th, through Saturday, January 31st, 2026, in Lake Charles at the Burton Complex.
It is three days of heart-pounding, exciting rodeo action with four shows to choose from. The rodeo week begins on Thursday afternoon with the ever-popular rodeo parade. The parade takes place in South Lake Charles and will start at 5:00 p.m.

The parade begins at 5:00 pm on the corner of East Lagrange and Ryan Street in Lake Charles. It will head South on Ryan, take a left on McNeese Street, and end at the football stadium parking lot. Then itwill be time for rodeo fans to flock to the Burton for the first night of rodeo action.
The first event that will take place Thursday night is the Mutton Bustin' that will start at 7:15 pm, and the rodeo begins at 7:30 pm inside the Burton Coliseum. On Friday, Mutton Bustin' will start at 7:15 pm, and the rodeo begins at 7:30 pm. Then on Saturday, there will be two shows. The first one begins at 2:00 p.m.

Then get ready for Gator 99.5 night at the rodeo with live music from the Barbe Show Choir at 6:30 pm, and Mutton Bustin' begins at 7:15 pm, and the final rodeo performance begins at 7:30 p.m. inside the Burton Coliseum.
