Massive Bologna Recall Hits Louisiana: Check Your Fridge Now
🐊 KNGT 🐊 | Louisiana — Ok Louisiana, Pump the brakes real quick before you go into the kitchen and make your next sancwich! You might want to take a moment to look in your refrigerator before preparing the bologna sandwich. The entire country, not just Louisiana, is being affected by a "phoney" bologna recall.
Gaiser's European Style Provision has recalled more than 143,000 pounds of bologna because the labels omitted important ingredients. Beef, chicken, and pork and whatever else goes in bologna are missing from the label. This could be an issue for people with religious dietary requirements or other dietary limitations.
The USDA has declared the recall to be a Class III recall, meaning that there are currently no known illnesses or acute health hazards associated with the recall.
The following are a few of the labels impacted by the recall:
• Babushka's Recipe for Chicken Bologna • Family Tree Bologna Veal
• Doktorskaya Bologna, a German brand Elegant Bologna
• Gaser's Bologna with Turkey
A few more types might be part of the nationwide recall that is being sold.
What Should Louisiana Residents Do About The Recall?
You should check your refrigerator if you live in Louisiana because these foods were sold and dispersed all throughout the country. The recalled food may have been sold at wholesale stores, delis, and retail establishments here in the Bayou State.
You should look for "EST. 5385" USDA inspection stamp on the inside of the container if you bought any of the recalled products between March of 2025 and June of 2025. If you find the lucky code, you didnt exactly win. If I were you, I'd return the food to the store for a complete refund or just throw it out.
