🐊 KNGT 🐊 | Lake Charles, LA — The community is getting together for a unique event that is happening this Saturday, September 27. Cooler's Icehouse in Lake Charles will host the SWLA Men Wear Pink with a Shade of Green Wing Cook-off.  Fundraising  starts at 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a delicious wing cook-off, live music, and fun with friends throughout the day, all for a cause that is important to everyone's heart.

The purpose of this event is to raise money for Allen Joyner's Men Wear Pink Campaign. Here's the scoop if you haven't heard of Men Wear Pink. A group of guys from all over the nation band together every October. On top of raising money to support research, provide support, and increase awareness of the condition, each guy promises to wear something pink every day for the entire month.

The campaign is all about supporting and brining awareness to those who are battling breast cancer, lets face it, we all know someone that has been effected. All proceeds from Men Wear Pink go directly toward supporting the American Cancer Society.

We also mean it when we say that the entire day will be enjoyable. Local favorites Dani LaCour, Too Real Blondes, PM Session, and Chute 13 are among the many acts on the live music schedule. Enjoy drink deals from the bar all day long, watch the wing cook-off, try your luck in the split-the-pot drawing, and check out the silent auction with tons of awesome items in between sets.

So mark your calendars for this Saturday, round up your friends, dress in pink (or green) and come out to Cooler's Icehouse. Come hungry, ready to dance, and ready to make a difference in SWLA.
