Lake Charles, Louisiana (KNGT-FM) - Some wins mean more, and Saturday’s victory over Incarnate Word was one of them. Back on December 1st, UIW stunned the Bayou Bandits in the conference opener, as Davion Bailey poured in 29 points to hand McNeese its first Southland loss of the season. On Saturday, the Cowboys returned the favor and got their revenge. Now, McNeese turns the page and sets its sights on Houston Christian.

Saturday’s matchup was a back-and-forth battle for much of the night before McNeese pulled away late for an 81–64 win over Incarnate Word at the Townsley Law Arena. A strong second-half run helped the Cowboys break open a tight game and earn revenge for an earlier loss to the Cardinals.

Jerrell Colbert scored a career-high 17 points, while Larry Johnson and Tyshawn Archie added 17 each, and the Cowboys forced 23 turnovers while holding UIW star Davion Bailey to 12 points. The win improved McNeese State to 19-5 overall and 12-3 in Southland play.
