McNeese is coming off a dominating win over SLC rival Northwestern State on Friday Night inside the Townsley Law Arena, 92-54. Head Coach Bill Armstrong threw a major wrinkle in the starting lineup for the Cowboys to try and get a better start. Southland Conference Player of the Year Javohn Garcia was the lone starter to remain in the starting five for McNeese.

The new group featured scoring leader Larry Johnson, who averages 16.4 points per game, along with Garwey Dual, Carl Cherenfant, and Peitok Machar.

Now the Cowboys will return to action on Tuesday Night as McNeese will face Rhode Island inside URI's Thomas M. Ryan Center.

This will be the two schools' second meeting. Rhode Island won the first matchup in 2013, and this year’s game completes the current contract with no return trip to Lake Charles.

The Rams, coached by Archie Miller, lost all five starters from last year but remain strong at home. They are led by Jonah Hinton, who scores 16.5 points per game and averages more than three made threes per contest. Tyler Cochran adds 13.7 points per game, giving Rhode Island multiple scoring threats.
